Conditions of booking
Once deposit paid / balance paid / within 6 weeks of arrival - no refunds - we recommend Guest First Insurance or your own single trip or annual travel insurance policy.
Arrivals and Departures
We ask all our guests to kindly vacate their property by 10.00am so that we can ensure the cottage is available to new arriving guests from 4.00pm.
We also ask that you leave the property and grounds as you first found them.
Hirer's Risk and Responsibility
The hirer is responsible for the property and is expected to take all reasonable care of it. Please leave the utensils, equipment and property as clean and tidy as you find them. The use of the accommodation and amenities are entirely at the hirer’s risk and no responsibility can be accepted for loss or damage to any person or personal belongings. This includes damage to, or loss of, any vehicle and or its contents.
Damages and breakages are the responsibility of the hirer and should be reported.
The security /damage deposit of £50 per property will be refunded within two weeks of the last day of the holiday.
Monies will be deducted for any damage to the property or its contents including furniture and carpets, missing items, including utensils, information books, batteries, loss of door key etc. Unexpected cleaning or laundry fees and call out costs for items such as, but not limited to, noise disturbance or lost keys are charged at a rate of £15 per hour or part thereof.
£150 secuity-deposit deposit applies for long-lets - and no refunds are given if you depart earlier than booked stay.
A non refundable deposit of 25% of the whole rental, including payment for pets and car parking is required on booking. The balance of the rental is non refundable and due six weeks before the start of the holiday. Non payment of the balance will be deemed a cancellation. The total amount is payable when booking a holiday within six weeks of the arrival dated.
Holiday payments are non refundable unconditionally. In view of these contractual payment conditions, we strongly recommend our guests to take out travel insurance to cover them for unforeseen circumstances such as cancellation or curtailment.
One well-behaved dog is welcome at £25 per week or £15 per short break. More pets can be accepted by arrangement. Sorry no Cats
To ensure a safe and healthy environment for children, owners must clean up after their dogs both in the grounds and on all public paths, ensure dogs do not cause a disturbance to other residents, and kept under strict control.
Dogs should not be left in the cottage on their own without prior permission from the owners.
Call out fees due to any noise disturbance will be deducted from the damage deposit. Pets are not allowed on furniture and cats must be caged when left on their own. All Birds and pets that are not house-trained must remain caged at all times.
Please ensure you bring enough towels and bedding for your pets. Any damage or unexpected cleaning will be deducted from the damage deposit.
We have limited car parking at Watermouth Cove and can guarantee one car parking space for Driftwood, Seashell, Seadrift, Tidesreach and Beachcomber, and two parking spaces for Sandpiper, Seaspray and Smugglers Cove.
One additional space can be reserved for £14 for one week or part thereof.
Smoking is not permitted inside any of the cottages or buildings.
Smoking in the court yard, garden and patio areas is permitted.
Please dispose of cigarette ends safely and not in the gardens.
Under no circumstances are fireworks to be let off on the premises as they disturb other guests, small children, pets, our neighbours and local livestock.
Our cottages were built in the 1700’s, are full charm, character and retain many original features. The cottages were built long before modern regulations and have solid stone walls. Please ensure the cottages are aired when possible during autumn, winter periods or spells of wet weather.
Condensation can usually be alleviated by partially opening appropriate windows to allow some fresh air circulation.
